The client

Innovit

The brief

As an IT specialist in both the education and commercial sectors, the client wanted to raise its profile locally in the West Midlands and build a reputation in the education sector as a leader in the field.

The campaign

On a regional basis the campaign focused on positioning Innovit and its MD as the jargon-free, informed voice of IT. The agency secured a monthly column for the client on the Birmingham Post e-business page, commenting on topical issues relating to business and IT, in addition to finding speaking opportunities and issuing relevant releases.

In the education sector, Octopus worked with Innovit to support a strategic partnership with a government agency, including PR provision for a nationwide tour. The agency also generated the content for a regular newsletter sent to secondary schools throughout the UK.

The results

The quality coverage secured has helped to treble Innovit’s turnover in the last year and has provided a huge boost in raising the company’s profile locally and in the education sector.

The client says

“Working with Octopus has made a tremendous difference to our small, young but ambitious company. Far from us being too small, as we saw it, to generate anything newsworthy, they have showed us the news value of the things we were already doing as part of our business. They have been instrumental in creating the bigger shoes that we aspired to, and which we have been able to grow into.”
