The client

Franchise Development Services (FDS) North

The brief

The client had a very clear PR brief, which was to raise its profile to generate new business. FDS North was also keen to promote its clients (new franchisors) by securing press coverage to attract new recruits.

The campaign

The focus was on building a national profile for the company through the franchising pages in newspapers, including the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday, supported by a regional campaign targeting local media within the geographic boundaries of the FDS North operating area.

The results

Media – the client has appeared in publications with a circulation totalling 14.5 million, with an estimated 43.75 million opportunities to view (not including online coverage).

New business – the client has generated more than 80 leads (compared with 35 the previous year) and has signed up 15 new contracts in the last 12 months. It is now the busiest office in the national network.

The client has recommended us to three other companies.

The client says

“I appointed Octopus PR to raise the profile of FDS North and to help secure new business leads for the company. The campaign the agency created has exceeded my expectations and delivered a better response than I could have hoped for, delivering coverage on- and offline on a national and a regional basis.

The results for the business have been fantastic. We have received more than 80 enquiries over the last 12 months in comparison with 35 the year before and 15 have been converted into new clients.”

Tony Urwin, Managing Director
